Swans players to step up this year.

    Ideas any one?

IMO it will be Schneiderman,Eski and Kennelly.(fingers crossed)

BTW I know what the Eski will be doing when he retires, golf because he started playing in october last year and already has a handicap of 6 thats bloody good going.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Definitely see the Eski becoming more integral to our team.

If Ted Richards continues the upward curve of the second half of 2006 he could also establish himself as one of our key players.

Of the young guns, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Phillips and JW can do if given the opportunity.

I'm looking for Davis and Eski to feed of Everitt in the middle to finally give us a really classy midfield.

Teddy will be forced to contain himself at CHB until LRT returns, and then Ted may even be moved back to FB depending on how Leo handles the new rules.

I think Phillips will get a lot of game time this year.

McViegh to become a regular goal kicking midfielder in the mould of Paul Williams.

Compared to 2006 - here's my predictions. The values could roughly equate to B&F positions (should they have had (or will) completed all games).

                Crouch (-2)
                Barry (-2)
                Dempster (=)
                Kennelly (+2)
                Eski (+3)
                C Bolton (-1)
                Goodes (=)
                Buchanon (=)
                J Bolton (-1)
                Kirk (-2)
                Ablett (+1)
                Schneids (=)
                McVeigh (+2)
                Richards (+4)
                Davis (+1)
                M'OL (-2)
                Hall (-1)
                Everitt (?)
                Jolly (=)
                Fosdike (+1)
                Mathews (-1)
                O'Keefe (+1)

                LRT (-4)
                Doyle (-1)
                Grundy (-1)
                Bevan (+1)
                Flipper (+4)
                Schmidt (+1)
                Moore (+2)

Not an exact science - but you get the feel. Most improvement from Flipper, Richards and Eski. Biggest drop on last year's value will be LRT (mostly because the injury he will struggle to get up to speed this year) and
the old timers will naturally have slightly less influence.

I am expecting Moore to contribute more(pardon the pun) this year.I think his fitness is his problem so hopefully he can improve on that.Roosy seems to like him as you don't offer a young player a three year contract unless you see positive signs from the lad.

Went to a Swans lunch yesterday - panel of Spida, Jude and Crouchy all nominated McVeigh and Eski as the 2 players identified internally as ready to make the next step up.....

The guys that are yet to hit their peak are generally in the 20-24 y.o range.

Based on the above logic those that are over that age have generally already hit their optimum level, unless they have been prior bludgers or injury prone eg. Doyle.

Therefore, players that I hope to see natural improvement in are Malceski & McVeigh (as everyone else does) as well as Dempster, Grundy, Moore, Phillips, Roberts-Thomson, Richards, Schneider & Schmidt. If all these guys did improve exponentially, then we are in for a very promising season.
