has anyone mentioned barry halls' brain freezes....I am sorry..but horrific. The 4 or so times he played on when of all the time to stap, think and then kick the ball he should have....I am verging on saying he should be dropped for a week.

I thought we still looked underdone (exactly as we have in round 1 for the last few years). We struggled with the pace in the first half. But we came home strong(er). Seriously need to work on or shots for goal, but nothing about that loss screamed "basket case" to me.

The only positives from that game will be revealed by WADA.

There a many positives to come out off this game IMHO, the cobwebs have been blown off now, so it time to buckle down and grab some 4 pointers.

We got picked up on every other technical breach of the contested mark tho! That first qr was one of the most frustratingly over-umpired 30 mins of footy it's ever been my misfortune to sit thru. Let's hope the umps have got it out of their system now.
They were so damned inconsistent with that rule! They did ping both sides a couple of times, but let so many others go by - it was almost like "hey we haven't blown the whistle for 2 minutes, oh hey quick, there were hands!" Very frustrating to watch.

Other than that, I was pleased with a few passages of play where we were very coherent and smooth, with great vision. I particularly liked the one in the last quarter when we got it down to 7 points I think it was - although in the square I was expecting them to stuff it up and miss, they put together some really great run in the lead up. More of that cohesion on a reqular basis across 4 quarters and we'll be tough to beat.

We dropped off too many tackles, especially on Judd.

There was one in the first quarter where a Weagles dodged about 3 Swans to score a goal.

Just like the tackles on Judd, this part of our game has dropped off in past seasons.

I find the process of looking for positives after a loss self defeating.

Positives - running into a few smart alec Weagles fans on the train home and silencing them by offering some of my supplies in memory of Ben.
