    Telstra Stadium Advertising signs

Am I alone in thinking those electronic signs behind the goals were off-putting? If I thought they were I can't imagine what they were like for the players.

PS. Mods sorry if this is in the wrong forum please feel free to a more appropriate one if necessary.

Stadium Management should be instructed to use these signs properly. Freeze the motion when we are shooting for goal: double speed when the opposition are. Our crowd is useless at influencing the umps, we need some home ground advantage.

I'm usually a big fan of Stadium Australia, but they really gave me the @@@@s last night.

We decided to get casual parking, and got directed off the the boondocks at P5. Now tell me, with all that unused space, couldnt they have made a carpark closer to the stadium??

Then we are charged $15 for parking, but need to pay an extra $2 for the shuttle bus. Why in gods name, dont they just charge $17 and make the bus "free". The Bus took 3 times longer to fill than a freebie because everyone had to dig around for change.

I missed the first half of the first quarter because of this.

Then the advertising boards, which were just annoying, and not really readable from the other goal end.

FWIW, "No passouts". Not sure if this has always been the case, but it seems to be spreading australia wide.

      A curse on them.

They were really annoying. I remember at one stage i think Malceski or Buchanan had the ball and it changed to like the brightish green colour just as they were kicking it in the 50.

I also found it hard to pick up the play against those signs as the background (I'm sure being at ground level doesn't help). Not a fan at all - if they want electronic signs, put them on the hoardings on the wing, not behind the goals.

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Get used to it..they won't be going away anytime sooner. This is the future of Stadium advertising like it has been for a few years in Europe with the soccer.

They were terrible. Wait for the MCG to catch on.

Nothing wrong with electronic signs per se, but I think they could have been used a little better.

              1) Turn down the brightness!!!

              2) If the play is in that half of the ground, freeze any motion in the ads!

If they do that, then they are not really any more annoying than the rotating ads that they've had for years.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Also, seeing they were saying they were supporting earth hour you think they would have turned them off.

Bright lights like that set off epileptics. They were tragic. I had to look away now...and not just because we'd missed another goal.

They look really bad on tv, they strobed worse than a striped suit.

Bloody awful things. I was sitting in Aisle 109 and it didn't matter where I looked around the ground I could always see one of them doing its scrolling flashy thing and driving me nuts! And was it just me or did the ads not even scroll correctly all the time? NOT a fan.

They got those LCD screens from watching Primera Liga matches in Spain. They are terrible, as you spend the whole match watching what the advertisements are saying rather than the game. Watch an Arsenal EPL game & see what I mean; you end up knowing more about where Emirates fly to than the match at times.

Furthermore those boards now mean that Row 1 is actually unable to seat people in the bays directly behind each goal. I was allocated tickets in Row 1 in Bay 119 for the Prelim final last year & spent half a match sitting in a bloody aisle. I nearly walked out at half time I was so frustrated & 'over it'.

The flickering of the ads is most definitely irritating. The AFL should ensure that when players are shooting for goal that they are put in hold for that period.
