I can't visualise what you are suggesting here. There are 16 Eagles camped inside our forward 50. What do you mean by 'take the ball close enough to tempt them.' Does this not just mean umpteen HTB decisions on the edge of our 50m arc? Or have I misunderstood what you're saying. And how does this help the Swans break the flood?
Did We Miss Ross Lyon & Peter Jonas?

The only real way to break the flood is to move the ball quickly out of defence and attack as directly as possible - two things that the Eagles did brilliantly in the first half. More damning for me than the inability to break the flood was the failure to stop the quick breakaway after a point was scored and allowing their midfielders to storm through the centre of their F50 unchecked.
We did a much better job in the H2 by moving the ball quickly & more often than not straightening up once we had switched play out of the back line.Comment

That's the thing though. It always takes us the 1st half to figure out what we are doing wrong.
We should of moved it on quicker at the start of the 2nd quarter when we knew what the Eagles game plan was.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

Yes. This is really the best method, which can cut up a flood quite badly, and we have demonstrated that in the past.
If we go slowly then I think the only real method is patiently working it around to get a shot about 45m out on <45deg angle.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Yep, which often leads to scoring points, which allows the opposition to take the ball out of defence quickly, etc etc.
That's why the former way is better!Comment
