    Melbourne aftermatch?

Hi all - I'm riding my motorcycle down to Melbourne for the Tigers game (my case still has the "Go Swannies" sticker from riding down for the 2005 GF - I hope for the same result but a better win).

Can a Melbourne member tell me if there's an aftermatch function with the players at the G?

    Swans V Richmond After Match

Here are the details for the After Match that I received from the Melbourne Office:

    Round 2 After-Match Function
The first Members only After-Match function for the year will be following the Round 2 game at the MCG.

All Sydney Swans Members are invited to the After-Match function in the Rear Atrium Room on Level 2 of the Ponsford Stand.

Come along and listen to the player interviews, get an autograph and also the latest Sydney Swans merchandise.

Please note this is strictly MEMBERS ONLY and a 2007 Membership card must be presented to gain entry.

I'll probably give this a miss - have to dash across to the Geelong/Carlton game at Telstra Dome straight after

        Have fun, everyone!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I won't be down for it, but I'm glad to see it's members only.

Last year for the Richmond game I made the trip with the kids and took 4 or 5 WEG posters from the 2005 GF to get signed.

Stood with DrJ and Reggi and there was at least 1,000 people in that damn room at Telstradome and you couldn't get near anybody without a seriously long wait. In the end it was too bloody hot and I wanted a beer, so the posters are still in the Australia Post tube.

I will get to training one day, easiest place to get anything signed, just have to make an effort to do it.

Mmmm, could be a plan for these school holidays.

It's been strictly members only for a few years now. But I noticed at the Tiges TD AM, there was a second door that people just streamed through, without any checks.

It was one of the worst AM's crowd wise.

Th queues are getting more and more ridiculous. I dump the kids in the queue as soon as we get there, then go and get a beer and relax, otherwise you won't get near the players.

              .
That aftermatch was a nightmare, I stood in the queue for an hour or more and got no autographs, I now only have one 'Craig Bolton' left to get for my premiership jersey.
Previous after match functions have been advertised for members only but they rarely check membership cards.

You Melbourne folk all seem to agree that Tony Morwood is approachable and does a good job, I suggest somebody contact him and ask that the 'members only' rule be enforced.

Memberships aren't cheap and if any Tom, Dick or Harry can bust into the aftermatch and receive the spoils of autographs at the expense of members kids, then yet another attraction of membership is diluted.

The AM after the Dees game last year up in the Rear Atrium room was chockers - IIRC they stopped letting people in coz it was full. So might be advisable to try and get in early.

I am not sure if I will be going. Like Des I am also going to the Geelong V Carlton game afterwards.

Cats and Blues?? I'd prefer to watch The Sound of Music again than those two teams. I'm going to the Doggies Crows game on Sunday instead.

I don't have a choice, at least not in the traditional intepretation of that word.

I guess you don't Des. For the sake of your relationship I hope the Swans and Cats both win this weekend.

At the MCG they have checked our membership cards whenever we have gone.
