Grundy and Schmidt for Phillips and Vogels. That's a fair dinkum shakeup

That's an extraordinary show of faith in Grundy. I know they said they were very impressed with his pre-season before he got injured but still a big ask for him to play his first game of any description in the senior team.

I reckon there may be an element of tactics here. Sounds like they want to free Hall up to play further up the ground to give him a bit more space and reduce the chance he'll be triple teamed. Grundy working close to the goal square is probably a better option than Vogels down there.

And Phillips doesn't even make the emergencies? He may not have touched the ball much last week but did a couple of really gutsy things in the final quarter.

Wow. I was totally wrong thinking we'd only make the Schneider/Davis change. Poor Flipper...guy deserves a better go to find his feet in the seniors. Richmond would of been a perfect opportunity.

Great work for Schmidt. Was apparently very good for the ressies last week.

Congrats to Reg as well. Great show of faith indeed.

Well, i've underestimated Roos, i didn't think he'd make so many positive changes, though Phillips can consider himself unlucky.

Looking fwd to this game. Finally get to see Schmidt play. (missed all his games last yr).

Get to see Grundy in action, live. I think he will add a bit more grunt to the fwds, that we lacked last week. Another big body, for them to worry about.

Also the Tiges have some exciting youngsters in the team, which will give our blue collars a good work out.
Newman, Raines, Tambling, Deledio, Krakouer, Polo, Foley, Tuck.

I'd describe Newman, Raines, Foley and Tuck as about as blue collar as they come. Not that that makes them ordinary players - but they're not overly quick or flashy.

Deledio is going to be a very good player but looks like he's struggling under the expectations set by the likes of Judd.

While to me, Tambling looks like a player trying to become a superstar, without first trying to become just a decent player. Capable of flashes of brilliance but doesn't hurt teams for sustained periods.

What you'd expect from first/2nd year players.

I was thinking the same thing as i read that, all decent players but nothing we haven't seen before. Sydney seem to have a habit of letting the little goal sneaks in for a few goals, the likes of B. Johnson and Robertson always do well against us. Do the Tigers have anyone like that?

Nathan Brown is the one that springs to mind, but he's out.

"Grundy and Schmidt both had very, very good pre-seasons and though Heath had a setback with a back complaint they went very well last weekend in the twos," coach Paul Roos said prior to training at the SCG on Thursday.
Did no one tell Roos that Reg pulled out of the game?!
