Based on following them since 1975.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I'm bound to think of someone else as soon as I hit 'submit reply'. - Hall! I left Hall out. Can I have 11?Last edited by cruiser; 14 April 2007, 07:53 AM.Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment

Healy (all time fave), Lockett, Kelly, G Williams, Wright, Carter, Goodes, Cressa, Mitchell, Schwass.
Just couldn't include Roos on his time in Sydney, 1996 was stellar but he had an average 1995 and was fading towards the end of his career IMHO. He was a very important player of course, but I think he would be more deserving of being in a Fitzroy Top 10 list.Comment

Bedford - sensational skills
Skilton - brilliance and guts personified
Teaser - Sensational Brownlow year
Williams - uncanny periferal vision and disposal skills
Rantall - mister reliable, great reader of the game
Lockett - a very straight kick amongst other outstanding attributes
Kelly - game breaker and the best at breaking the lines
Goodes - keeps getting better and who can argue with 2 Brownlows
Bayes - I liked him because he always towelled up Kernahan, brilliant kick

1 The "Chimp"
2 Greg Williams
3 Tony Lockett
4 John Rantall
5 Paul Kelly
6 Barry Hall
7 "Wheels" Bedford
8 Adam Goodes
9 Tony Morwood
10 Graham Teasdale
Apologies to Micky O'Loughlin and Goodesy from the current players but a few more years might seal it.
N.B. Teaser played the greatest season of footy from an individual I have seen the year he won his Brownlow.
From memory he kicked 9 from FF in round 1, 8 from FF in round 2 and Coach Stewie said ..in the ruck Teaser.
Still remember a torpedo from inside the square at the "G" sailing over my head 15 rows back behind the goals!
Ah bugger it I'll have a stab at top 10 of all time - note I did not see any games before 1970.
I am relying upon Old Timers who have assertively told me (sometimes with pointed fingers) who were the best...can't
go before 1930 so Vic Belcher misses out. The oldest pundit I know went to his first game in 1931!
1 The "Chimp"
2 Ron Clegg - skilled but off field was easily No.1!
3 Laurie Nash - could do anything including get Bradman out and kick 18 goals in an interstate game
4 Bob Pratt - jeez he could easily be considered No.1 by some
5 Greg Williams - dual Brownlows and should have been a 3rd
6 Tony Lockett
7 John Rantall - tough, reliable and durable - great defender
8 Paul Kelly
9 Barry Hall
10 Peter Bedford - so skilled, quick and brilliant
Some reckon that Frank Johnson and Freddie Goldsmith were bloody good too.Comment
