Maybe our forward line are just crap at kicking for goal? More like Richo than Lloyd for example.

They are too "Hall-centric" when they go forward. Trying to hit Baz on the chest with a lead when 16 of the opposition are in the forward 50. It just won't happen and I'll upset the Bazza lovers when I say he's got little or no chance of taking a contested mark - he just ain't got it - he's no Tony Lockett. I get bloody frustrated when our guys chip the ball around to each other outside the 50 metre arc waiting for the said lead from Hall, O'loughlin - ANYONE. It just gives the opposition time to man up. Just bomb it in long! It should be players like Schneider to get the crumbs when the Baz or Spider can't mark. That's where the goals will/should come from.
How refreshing it was to see Leo Barry in the last quarter break the deadlock by saying "Stuff you, you forwards by mucking around with it, I'll go direct and kick a goal" - and he did. Done like a true backman.
Someone said after the Grand Final - Rok Lobster I think - that the players at times need to forget the game plan and get selfish, get goal hungry. Andrew Embley from the WCE is a classic example of the goal hungry bastard. You won't see him handball or pass when he thinks he has a chance and can get glory by kicking a goal. Just watch him next time. I hate him but you have to admire that in him.

Poor conversion of set shots is maybe another (not just the angle ones).

            Possibly inefficient crumbing is another.
Spot on NMWBloods and Nollie especially the crumbing issue. Moore had an impact in acouple of games last year roving the crumbs and it stood out like dogs balls .A patient build up is all very well but when it dosen't result in a set shot we are very suscept to a quick rebound goal. Would love Stevie Wright or Bernie Evans to be around Baz,s drops.

Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Hahaha...good work NMW. I don't say this very often, but I totally agree with you. If our game plan is designed around not kicking many goals (which it pretty much is), forget about picking O'Loughlin, Bazz, Davis (when fit) and pretty much our whole forward line every week. Just pick another 6 or so defenders so we can play the most negative game in the history of histories and win with a score of four points.

Seriously, what is the point of having one of the most potent forward lines in the league if we don't use it to our advantage?
                Go you mighty BLOODBOYS!

We have the right game plan as all sides flood now. We just need to play smarter-e.g. Jolly's goals last night. If we had kicked straight early, we would have won and Adelaide are one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the comp. We just need to play smarter and execute!

                          Same thing.

We need more than one Avenue to goal.
