    Mark McVeigh's mark...AFL over rule!?!

They cannot seriously change whether this is a mark or not can they after the match!!??!! According to this article it seems they can!!

I thought if the mark was paid in the match, then it stands.

The official line yesterday from AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson was that in his view there was not yet a definite decision until the mark is reviewed today by the league's football and umpiring departments.

I assume that they are talking more about the interpretation than the mark itself. But then this is Adrian Anderson we're talking about.

My thoughts exactly. I can only hope the article and the quotes in it are for pure discussion only and not for the fact the AFL may reverse the decision!!

We all know Ablett's mark back in the early 90s was not a mark, however, the umpire paid it and that is history...mark to G.Ablett.

People complain about Demetriou, but Adrian Anderson is the worst thing to happen to AFL football.

Is it nominated for Mark of the Year?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Does that mean they'll retrospectively overrule Capper's marks?

But his hands weren't on his back, they were on his shoulders. Is that different?

If they do they risk opening a Pandora's Box. If they overule McVeigh's mark what's to say that they then can't also overule goal decisions if they are paid incorrectly (or not paid correctly). If so, does that mean they could then go back and look at every dubious goal/behind decision ever paid/not paid and in doing so, reverse the outcome of past games?

Does anyone know where this supposed rule is actually written? I am yet to set eyes on the actual rule governing this interpretation. In that case, if it aint written, then the whole excercise is just a "make it up as you go" senseless interference in our game. Someone SHOW ME the rule!
