    Dempster out 6 weeks

Does opportunity knock for Laidlaw or will Crouch come straight back in?

Davis still 2 weeks away and LRT now 6 weeks.

My money would be on Crouch coming back in,especially with the 2's having a bye.

Bad luck for Zoolander - room for Laidlaw/Crouch for Grundy/Dempster given the forward options the Crows have?

perfect oppo to blood one of the youngsters..

would love to see pugsly moore given a go. impressed me when he played

          laidlaw looks the likely type.

also just quickly i heard a rumour that nick smith didnt play ressie this weeks and the swans would not tell him the reason saying that "they have theyre reasons".????

Possibly because they couldn't play any more listed players?

Bad luck to Dempster. Crouch to come in and maybe Davis for Grundy.

Bad luck for Dempster and us. His defensive work is severely under-rated.

I would have thought Crouch was a certainty. Hall quoted on Fox Sports News suggesting Davis would be right too, which means someone else will drop out, Grundy I assume.

Good kid. Big future. Bad luck. Although, when it comes to knee injuries, 6 weeks can be at the good end of what you might suffer. He'll have to come back through the 2s and prove he's ready, but fully-fit, Dempster is near enough to an automatic first-22 selection these days.

Following team published with the Swans' official report. Team:
                          D. O'KEEFE, DOYLE, WHITE, LAIDLAW, FAULKS, THORNTON, CROUCH, SIMPKIN, MOORE, BRABAZON, VOGELS, SMITH, BARLOW, M. DAVIS, SHAW, ROWE, PHILLIPS, JACK, BIRD, MILL, EDIRIWICKRAMA, BALDING.

So obviously not according to the official reports. Unless he did a rapid disappearing act a la Doyle.

In order to avoid the embarrassment of telling a Swans-listed player to watch the 2s from the sidelines and maybe do some kick-to-kick with a trainer at quarter time, we need 6 players from our list to be unavailable. LRT, Paul Bevan, Nick Davis, HSC Currie, Matt O'Dwyer and Luke Brennan (presuming the latter 2 still fall into the 'not sick, but not yet well enough' camp) just made up the 6 this week. In a couple of weeks' time (when the twos next play) all of the above list bar LRT and Currie should be available, at the moment only Dempster has been added to the 'outs' (Doyle not being on any injury list)... and it could be red faces all around that we signed up to a system that defeats the purpose of having a Swans seconds.

Not to mention the red faces when the Canberra Wildcats (nee Weston Creek) get beaten by what's shaping up as a potential record score.

Interestingly, the Herald Sun has Davis listed as another 2 weeks away!

Needed a spell in the 2s anyway.
