Tells me he covered a lot of ground, got in amongst it while also getting by himself plenty of the time. Only played 70% of the game. Not bad for first up and was obviously a fair way off top fitness.

He has played in only 6 of our last 17 games and it is no coincidence that he was there in our finals campaign and played well.

Is one of our genuine keys to success, and if as reported his attitude is the best it has been then we might be in for something special.

The beauty about Davis is that you know most of the time he will send the ball forward, usually a reasonable distance, and most often hitting a target. Given we have so few players that can do that, he is essential I think.
