Agree entirely. Our coaching staff seem to think that we have to turn everyone into a tagger.

He has lost his accuracy too. Only 4 behinds so far this season. Last year, even though he didn't kick many, you could feel quite confident that he would kick a goal more often than not. He doesn't seem to have the strength (Ablett) or tenacity (Kirk) to play a tagging role properly.

I wonder if this is because of Roos' history as a player. He might be more comfortable introducing the new guys through a position he himself excelled at?

But that's the bizarre thing - Roos was anything but a defensive tagger. He was one of the most attacking centre half backs to ever play the game.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

One can be very attacking at CHB when one stays miles away from one's man all day
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yeah, I didn't mean to say Roos' was a tagger, more that he played in what is commonly regarded as a defensive position.
I was thinking about how Irish, Sundqvuist (sp?), Dempster, Ablett, Malceski and even Schneider to some extent were introduced through the back half.
McVeigh was different, being played in the forward half, and it seemed to work for him. Maybe he was struggling a little and maybe Roos' automatically thought he could fix it by getting McVeigh to tag some of the best midfielders out there?
