I was thinking of going to the clubs 'Melbourne Base' to see what it's like, and have a few beers on Saturday night, can any of the Melbourne crew give me a bit of info ie where it is and easiest way to get there. I will probably be coming from the city, as my mate wants to go to the pies/port match.

Its' on Beaconsfield Pde, Middle Park, which is the road along the bay. Put the address into www.whereis.com.au
If you are using public transport, I have no idea. Maybe a tram down Canterbury Rd, then walk.
