    season 1982 footage help

    Hey Guys

I am looking for somebody to help me, does anyone have footage of any swans home games at the scg from season 1982?

i have contacted ch7 who televised it back then and they cannot help me, neither can name a game or afl video.

maybe some older supporters on this forum maybe able to provide assistance?

    thank you

I don't think I had my first VCR until somewhere around the mid 80's. You'd be hard pressed to find members with footage from that era. What, without computers, Foxtel IQ or the Neanderthal VCR's around at that time, I doubt anyone but TV stations would have that footage.

I am surprised Ch7 cannot help, as they hold the rights to the VFL footage (from memory) - But I wish you luck in your search. Have you tried the Sydney Swans Club themselves?

If 7 say they can't help, I would suggest that they are either feeding you a line or are too lazy to look in the library for you.

If it hasn't been converted to video or DVD ever, then it's really hard work to get it.

My friend tried to get a copy of a WNBL final from 1991, which ABC covered. ABC found the footage, then said it would cost $300 to convert. So I doubt a commerical operation like 7, 9 or 10 would even bother trying to find it for you.
