    What's Wrong With Goodes

Remember me? Remember this "old" thread? Well, here it is again!

Last year I was hounded after starting this thread because I thought Goodes was hurting us through his skitting of contests and allowing his opponent to cause damage.

It appeared after that thread, he began to pull the finger out and go on to win another Brownlow. I hope the same thing happens again. But I really believe there is something amiss with him ATM.

2 things wrong with him. A head big enough to get stuck in the race and he has found a woman.

Coach confident faulty Goodes will work again soon
Paul Roos concedes that his dual Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes is "struggling a bit" for form at the moment, but he remains confident that the midfielder can work through it, and be back to his best as soon as next week.

I think that's unfair. I've never seen any sign of inflated ego from Goodes.

He has a little bit of that problem that a few of our players have at times - spend more time playing for free kicks and appealing to the umpire than concentrating on the ball. Both MOL and Hall have periods of this.

Wasn't it round 5 or 6 before he got a Brownlow vote last year?

That's what I was getting at....

But it appears that he is more aloof this time around.

Ahh, yes, I remember that thread all too well C-C. This time I'm inclined to agree.

I think we're fortunate that O'Keefe is in blistering form to be honest.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

                      ja! O'Keefe was on fire!

It was so unlike Goodesy to give a 50 like that away...

i would agree with nico. i reckon goodes does have an inflated ego at the moment. example: when he tried to outrun that adelaide bloke on the weekend.
but i reckon he'll get out of this form rut soon, and when he does i would suggest the team plays a hell of a lot better.

O'Keefe is in form, but he still fads out a little in the second half.In the first half he had 15 pos and in the 2nd he only had 8 or 9.He also had a lot of Ins 50's too wich is good but a lot of the time it was the wrong option.

Alternatively, you can view it as him being the only Swan forward of the centre line (ie with excuses to Kennelly) who ran hard for most of the first half. In the second half, there seemed to be a lift in effort right across the park, hence maybe explaining why O'Keefe touched the ball slightly less.

He has been pretty crap.... And his churlish tantrum throwing isn't doing us any favours either. At one stage on Saturday night I thought he was more likely to get reported than get an effective disposal.
