    50M Penalties

MOL - "Challenging" the Ump - Fair enough

Ted - Pushed player after mark. - Looked fair enough originally, but in replay looked like the Crow fell. hard to tell.

Goodes - Late Bump - Happens all the time. Touch and go, Fair enough.

Jude - Step over the mark and not move back. - Ump kept calling him by name, was obvious he didn't hear him (or he was playing dumb). Hard done by I thought.

    Thoughts?

    Fair:
    MOL -
Goodes - Late and just plain silly.

    Unlucky
Ted - Different angles tell different stories

    Absolutely Perplexing
Jude - He moved back before and during the umpire's request.

The stats won't show it, but the Umps went hard on the Swannies.

Doesn't change much, Sydney had the chance to nail Adelaide in the first quarter and rattle them. There would have been no 50M penalties had we had a good ascendency as we should have.

Yes and no. There were a couple of very soft free kicks the Swans got early, including one to Hall in front of goal. He missed (of course) so it didn't really influence the outcome but it was definitely soft.

I also thought the umpires seemed a little more lenient with the Swans holding the ball than they did with the Crows. There were a few that could have gone either way - though generally the HTBs they did pay seemed within the spirit of the rule.

I agree! This looked really strange as on the replay he's clearly moving backwards the whole time the umpire is talking to him!

Teddy's was soft but the simple answer is don't put your hand in the player's back after he's marked it - Crouch did the same thing later & was lucky the Crows player forgot to fall over.
