    We need a separate forum...

...for all the "We hate WCE" threads. Collectively, our preoccupation with the Eagles is a little bit over the top and generally . Get over it people. Kerr, Cousins and Braun are probably better footballers than we have on our list. Why care what they do or do not do - is it only because they beat us in a GF?

I like Braun a lot, that he is one of their lesser midfielders shows how good WCE have it.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Braun would be one of the best midfielders in our side.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Once we made a tagger out of him he would be.

Maybe. But a lot of GOPs are made to look better than they are by playing alongside greats, partly because they rarely attract a tight tag (except for that untight tag of Mathews in round 1 ) but moreso because their confidence grows alongside the best, they get good delivery and lots of it.

If they are transplanted into a lesser team, they often come down a level or two.

Braun is a fantastic runner who knows how to find space and he has adequate - though not punishing - skills. I don't think he'd find things quite so easy in the Richmond or Carlton midfields - or the Swans' midfield for that matter.

No, he'd not be a star, but he'd still be pretty decent in our midfield.

We are still trying to gain support for AFL in Sydney , especially as a family game, and we want parents to want their talented kids to play AFL. So when the best players, the Premiers, the Doyens behave like foul mouthed louts and irresponsible thugs AND the senior spokespeople for the game say "what's it matter they're great players" you set our cause back 20 years.
Don't you want to see a future Browlow medalist who came from Sydney?

I'll consider not bagging West Coast excessively when you do the same re your bagging of Paul Roos.
Fact is, its not just happening on RWO. It was even a topic of discussion on ABC 702 today. And there's very good reason for it.

I have had no reason to bag Roos for some time, but as the Sydney coach I consider that RWO is an appropriate place to do it when the need (or opportunity ) arises. The WC bagging borders on the hysterical. The club has its problems, granted, but there is a hatred towards the club - such as wishing ill upon its players - that is, imo, unhealthy. They are a very succesful club, and deliver to their supporters pretty much what the supporters want - on field success. I think that the damage that they are doing the code would be minimal. I have 8 year old sons and therefore know plenty of parents of 8 year old sons. We often talk football - soccer, rugby and AFL are all competing for our kids - and not one has mentioned Cousins, Kerr, Braun or any of the West Coast's problems. Of greater concern is that Auskick is generally early Sunday mornings (here anyway - I am not sure about elsewhere) and it seems that more parents are prepared to sacrifice Friday nights to attend soccer or rugby on Sat morning, than they are Saturday nights.

I actually think the hate is directed more at the supporters than the players - (overlooking recent events)...their supporters are tools.
