They need to do a lot of fine tuning with the SCG trust on ticket arrangements. There were signs up outside the ground telling people that there were only single seat tickets available at the ticket boxes. Friends of mine in a group of three after being quoted over $70 each for 3 tickets not together decided to watch the game from the pub instead.
Once inside the ground there were empty seats everywhere and only 23,000 turned up with the capacity supposed to be 30,000. The ticketek website also said single tickets only well before the game.
Next to me has been 4 empty seats for both home games so far, and the other side at least 4. I know they are probably swans members who did not turn up but surely they can manage the empty seats a bit better. There were whole sections in the SCG members also empty.
Clearly the members resale program is not working and needs more effort to promote to members. Maybe doing it on the Monday before the game is too early in the week. The reconstruction works are killing the walk up attendances I suspect and is the reason the crowds are well down on last year so far at the SCG.
