My "crime" was a letter sent by the Sunday Herald Sun deputy editor to Eagles sponsors questioning their on-going support through the turmoil at Subiaco Oval in recent times.

Obviously a quality rag wih high ethical standards - further evidenced by quoting a conversation with someone who was not being interviewed and not speaking to the journalist for the purpose of giving a story.

You call a journo, and think that what you say won't be used if it creates (or helps fuel) a story?

For a junior clerk, that would be evidence of coming down in the last shower. For a CEO of a large corporation, that shows breathtaking arrogance that he thinks he 'owns' the journalist and can therefore manipulate coverage of his corporation. Which is the point of the story.
