    Full Forward

With MOL not doing much up there, and Doyle getting match fit in the 2's. Is it time to restructure our forward line, and have one of Doyle/Everitt/Jolly as full foward with MOL in the pocket ?

Doyle and Everitt could easily slot in as permanent FF. Doyle was been groomed as a FF in the Eade era, and Everitt might find FF easier as the years progress.

MOL have been quite good at FF so far this year, not necesarrily scoring goals, but creating them. Although i think the idea has some merit. i would like to see Doyle get a chance to make a claim this year. As lets be honest, it is probably his last chance...

Not a bad idea barry,MOL's playing ok and on the week end he didnt even get 1 mark his effective disposals was only 64%,no goals or points. We could do with an extra tall up forward and either of those three would be good.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

It was quite startling to see the contrast in our fwd lkine when BBBBH was taken off with 15 to go on Saturday night. Both Jolly and Spida were rotated in but with no result. To be honest, neither of them even looked like they were going to score a goal. Excepting a couple of late ones from Schneider on the burst, we were looking pretty impotent without BBBBH. One player doesn't make a team, but gees we need an alternative should he go down.

What we need is a more powerful fwd, no nessescarily a tall one. Spida and Jolly are capable of a good grab, but they really don't have the strength. With this in mind, I think we need to look elsewhere. IMO, ROK or Goodes are the men for the job but even that's probably clutching at straws.

I have real concerns that we have no alternatives here.

I'd love to see one of the ruckmen rest at full forward and MOL playing in the forward pocket. You could nearly run all three ruckmen in the side on that basis.

To be fair, our whole forward line structure revloves around Barry Hall and his lead-up, strength style. Taking him out would require us to change our forward line stategy which aint going to happen mid-game.

With a Forward line of Hall at CHF, Everitt/Doyle at FF, MOL and Schenider in the pocket, we would effectively have two big targets up forward.

The kick to Everitt/Doyle would require MOL and Schnieds to be front and square to snap the crumbs. Doesnt really matter too much if the ruckman misses the mark.

Geelong have shown recently that you cant go to tall with a forward line, so I have to disagree with ya

And when it comes to Doyle dont go there

                That's almost what I said in January...Number 2 Ruckman?

I think too tall means more than two talls!

Hmmm, well I remember at 1 stage, our forward line was Micky-O, Bazza and Goodes. Thats three right there, to tall do you think?

I don't consider MOL to be a "tall" - he doesn't play like it.

At 190cm I would say he is tall, and plays like it IMHO. I don't think Roos would have him at FF if he didn't.

Just to really make thinks confusing....

How about Leo pinch hitting up fwd when BBBBH is off the ground???

We know he can take a grab and he's played fwd before so he should be OK. The illegals do OK using Hunter like this.. I think it's worth looking at. After all, if it's marking power we want, Leaping would have to be in our top five markers.... Probably just behid BBBBH and ROK....

                            No.

I like the three ruckman suggestion. All three have shown at different times they can play as a FF. Give them a go.

Especially when Vogels/Grundy isn't in the team.
