No - not permanently, but how about him as an option for the next month to cover for Kennelly. Reading of the play,a burst of speed, good footskills and the confidence to run and carry are the main attributes needed to be very good in that position. Davis doesn't have Kennelly's pace but has a good acceleration over a couple of steps and - just as importantly - the confidence and nous to know when to use it to step back into traffic rather than be forced wide.

Yes, he'd be missed up forward (though there is nothing to stop him running forward ala Malceski for the odd shot at goal) but I reckon it would be easier for someone like Laidlaw to come in and play a bit part in the forward line as a way of easing into senior football than to be expected to integrate into the back unit straight away.

they would just need to make more of a concious decision for him to do it at Telstra Dome and for the team to actually use him.
