Looking at the % for effective disposals - no wonder we are struggling.
From my perspective our main midfield players are providing very poor returns:
Kirk - 75.0%
Bolton - 72.9%
Buchanan - 71.8%
Goodes - 69.9%
Fosdike - 64.7%

And look who gets dropped:
Tim Schmidt - 82.5%

This is an interesting article on stats and some comments by Roos in relation to "kick efficiency".

"To be honest, I don't look at statistics in any great depth. I think all they confirm is what you know anyway," he said."Let's say the ball is hit down by Darren Jolly and it goes to Brett Kirk. Kirk has a bloke hanging off him and he kicks it forward. There's a one-on-one contest, the ball is dropped by Barry Hall and it rolls out of bounds. That's deemed an ineffective kick, which is ridiculous.

But, we all know we can relate them to how crap a player is, or how misleading the stats are when a player is crap but has a high possession counts. This is an interesting article on stats and some comments by Roos in relation to "kick efficiency".

I wonder how Roos justifies Fosdyke's disposal efficiency? 65.8% after Round 8. It's not like he get many 'in and under' possessions."Let's say the ball is hit down by Darren Jolly and it goes to Brett Kirk. Kirk has a bloke hanging off him and he kicks it forward. There's a one-on-one contest, the ball is dropped by Barry Hall and it rolls out of bounds. That's deemed an ineffective kick, which is ridiculous.

I'm simply amazed by Kirky's free kick stats - 57 for and 17 against!!
Shows how effective he is in that in & under role!"You got .. rock 'n roll eyes ..!"Comment
