    Bolton, Mathews, Crouch and Kirk

Do we have room for 4 of them? I didn't think any of them game us much tonight - certainly not in the form of attack. We need a middle with drive.

You'd naturally say drop Matthews, but he's probably in the best form of his life at the moment, which means he might just scrape into our best 22.

Crouch, youd have to give a few more weeks too. If he gets dropped this season its career over.

Jude Bolton could easily be replaced. Kirk (if the N.Davis rumours are true) should be banished.... but he has played some good games so far.

    Unfortunetly, we're stuck with them.

At least once Crouch is up and running he can tag. J.Bolton is being tagged and he has not handled it at all this year. We need some attacking midfielders. When Kennelly gets back, lets put Malceski on the ball

yes - but not all in the middle. Mathews or Crouch needs to play back.

We didn't get much from their possible replacements tonight - Schmidt, Moore, Jack.

A bit unfair on Jack. Bolton has to go, and dropping Kirk would send a clear message to the leadership group!!

What message? He probably has two Swan BOGs this season and did some good work in the packs today, plus played much of the game on Simpson - who wasn't one of the major architects for the Roos.

Our midfield does need a rejig but I don't think it is Kirk whose the problem.

Bolton is one whose contribution today was very disappointing, notwithstanding he had one of the game's best taggers playing on him. Even missing that early shot at goal on the run was pretty poor given it was a straightforward shot and he missed by a fair way. Kinda set the tone for the disasterous opening.

What i'm trying to say is, we need a big hard kick up the bum! Kirk probably doesn't deserve to be dropped, yet, but Bolton definitely does, and Mark McVeigh's brother.

Rubbish Schmidt was one our better players in the first half yet inexplicably he didn't get much time in the 2nd half with the preferred on baller being the utter rubbish footballer Jude Bolton, who by the way spent much of the last Q in the forward pocket.

The one thing I have noticed of late is that our midfield are either on or not. There seems to be a very big difference in effort at times. We we get behind they play like men possessed but otherwise look too defensive and are more interested in watching there direct opponent at each bounce than getting the ball. Kirk seems to be the number one culprit. At each centre bounce our onballers can't get there hands on it because they end up behind their direct opponents. Also Tonight we also looked slow without buchy and tadgh.

Perhaps I was a little harsh on him, he did do some nice things early, but he did finish with just 11 disposals. You're probably right that he deserved more game time.

He also had 5 defensive rebounds, which was the most by any Swan and the only player to figure in the top 5.

You know why he had that stat? Because he was the only midfielder pushing back in the first half.

We have too many taggers. Our midfield is in terrible shape. At each centre bounce they focus almost entirely on stopping their opponents - half of them don't even watch the football. I was amazed how many times they actually ran away from the football toward their own man, or they were facing their man and the ball bounced past them.

                              That was absolutely pathetic!
