I know it's only 6 rounds in, but once again there are 5 of the 6 interstate teams in the top eight...including holding down 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Special mention to Leigh Matthews. Exemplifies the difference between a champion coach and a crap coach. 3 years ago he coached the last of his 4 consecutive Grand Finals....this year he has a young team that looks extremely good. He should be giving the Hawks et al, masterclasses on "rebuilding".

Nah!! Interstate teams hold the usual seven of the top eight positions.

From where I sit, interstate teams occupy 15 of the 16 ladder positions.

If you find it boring and anal for people to keep pointing it out, then surely that's an incentive to stop saying it!

Round 6 was a poor weekend for the non-Victorian teams, with the Weagles and Pahhhhr just falling over the line in games they were heavily favoured to win, and the Clones and Swans both losing games they were solid favourites in.

Non-Victorian teams are structurally more sound than Victorian teams with few exceptions (Essendon and Collingwood for the most part), but by sheer weight of numbers (10 of 16 clubs is a lot), in any given year there is almost bound to be at least one Victorian club that has a chance of doing some damage in the finals.
