There are two articles I never want to read ever again

    a) Nick Davis telling us how he's changed (just get out there on the field and do it - consistently)

    b) Anyone from the club telling us how slow starts cost them and they must do better (just get out there on the field and do it!)

Every single time the Swans lose a game after getting jumped in the first quarter we get two versions of this article - one the day after the game (Fosdike this week) and the other a couple of days before the next game (Ablett here). And yet there is never any indication that they've got any idea why it happens, other than it being a mental problem of not being "switched on".

They lost one of the biggest games of their careers last year for this very reason and had the whole off-season to sit and ponder it. Maybe the eventual closeness of the scoreline blinded them to the fact that they could have won that game comfortably had they been even 10% better in the first half.

Stop telling us about it and just fix it!!!!!

Bad kicking for goal in the first Q can be bracketed in the poor start category.

Bolton and Hall were the culprits in the GF, Bolton did it again last week.

Oh yeah, you're reading all our minds now. I know the SMH is just stuck for content, but seriously GET A NEW ANGLE. It's like the boys all gathered for the Monday morning meeting and they decided that was the problem...well DEEERRRRRR. How about analysing cause for a while and not the obvious eventual effect that we ALL saw for ourselves.

The question needs to be asked of the coaching staff. Is Sydney going into games with the wrong match ups in the first quarter? Is shut down footy a waste of time so early in the match? Do we need to shut down better and man up like we're defending a point in a Prelim?

I mean, even against the Roos, the Swans held sway well in the 2nd quarter but of course the damage was done. The Roos inflicted that much damage so imagine what St Kilda will do. The damage is being done in the first 10 minutes of the game.

I can't believe that nobody has read the kicker (also used in the Swans' members email) closely. Look at it again. It signals a massive change in focus:

"Luke Ablett believes the Swans will get smashed by St Kilda if they rectify their poor starts"

That means it's going to be a tough game all 'round. Rectify our poor starts, and we'll go on to get smashed; not rectify them, and we're up against it and relying on a big 2nd half.

I think the Swans are suggesting that punters go elsewhere this weekend.

This doesn't happen to the Eagles. We have hardly lost a "normal" game for years. Every loss that springs to mind was after we fell behind by at least 25 points AND didn't kick straight....even last week it should have been 3 goals apeice early and then normal transmission wouldhave resumed.

Adelaide at SCG last year - they beat us from go to woe is us. Mind you, that's about the only one I can think of.

I think the Geelong game at Skilled is another example. They were just the better team all afternoon.
