Who writes this stuff & just adds the name of the next Swans player on the list. Does this stuff have any cred?

A positive move would be to get some selectors with brains.

Maybe Bevan is really positive. Has good vibes.

Maybe it's to do with some sort of chemistry test with negatively-charged ions...

It will be a postive move if they release McVeigh from his run with roles and put him on a wing or half back and ask him to run his guts out to provide some run and carry.

Agreed. I think our most attacking solutions are not in the 2's, they're playing defensive roles in the seniors. Get Ablett and McVeigh out of the defensive roles and get them a focused lock down replacement.

To me, this is where their natural ability lies:

                  Kirk - defensive / inside
                  Bolton - defensive / inside
                  Ablett - attacking / switch
                  McVeigh - attacking / outside
                  Mathews - defensive / outside
                  Buchannan - attacking / inside
                  Jack - defensive / inside
                  Schmidt - attacking / inside
                  Bevan - defensive / outside
                  Schneider - attacking / outside
                  Goodes - attacking / outside
                  Crouch - defensive / outside
Moore - attacking / inside (? haven't seen him enough tbh)

Sorely missing attacking outside midfielders at the club with Goodes down on form. Kennelly and Malceski play this role in the defensive third. Schneider in the front third. McVeigh and Ablett have been used as a defensive outsiders for too long, leaving little run around the ball. By bringing in a defensive outsider (Bevan), this should release McVeigh or Ablett to dictate the play more.

My understanding is that Laidlaw's only geniune failings at this point are his concerntration levels, which could prove extremely costly in what's likely to be a very very tight game if he's asked the play a defensive outside (ie. run with role). In a more open game, he may suit over and above Bevan. Roos tends to develop finals sides, not home and away sides - which suits Bevan's intensity.

They seem to roll out Matthews for alot of their publicity these days - perhaps because he does jack on the field, they figure they should put his "leadership" skills to some use to promote the club. I wonder if Roos will eventually have a go at him for having too many outside committments like he did to Goodes?
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
