    What's the deal with Vogels?

Can someone explain to me why Vogels isn't getting a run with the senior side?

LRT, Dempster, Kennelly...I just don't get it.

You would think these players would be a like for like swap.

I am a fan of Luke Vogels, considering the injuries we have at the moment you would think it would be his opportunity to shine and see if he is good enough to make it.

If not then why is he on the list?

The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Vogels is now about 3rd in line for a forward spot behind grundy and Doyle so he's merely a depth player there.
I got the feeling he was trialed as key position backman in the 2's and pre-season, but hardly set the world on fire.

I think his lack of fitness during a few senior games last year left a pretty big black mark on his career.

Hasn't showed enough in the reserves to push for selection. Mind you i'm still baffled that Grundy's selection before as he had no reserves or pre-season game form what so ever.

I don't see any of the two's - but it seems from reports that he doesn't go back and dominate like Grundy does. However, Vogels appears to be a lot more comfortable in the senior side, than Grundy does.

I like him when he plays - good hands and he kicks straight. I rate him a lot higher than I do Reg. He needs to play a couple of blinders in the reseves. If he does that, hopefully he will get his chance.

The coaching staff have to face the facts that Vogels WILL NOT make it as a backman.
Too slow and ball watches alot. He looks much better with him dictating the lead.

                Yeah agree - he's a natural forward.

I thought he was good in his limited game time in Round 1, I have no idea why he was dropped to make way for Grundy.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

seems a useful third tall option now that ROK is essentially a winger

Wasn't he initially recruited as a backman?

100% agree with this....so why doesn't he get a game?
