A 50/50 umpiring contest and they just so happen to pay it against Hall.

Another Saint injured, that's the only thing going our way now.

Hall has kicked his 2nd goal.

A straight kick margin now, Sydney are playing better but we need consecutive goals to swing the momentum back in our favour.

It's hard to believe that they are only one goal in front.

I'm happy with a one goal deficit at half time. To be honest, I think we've been outplayed in midfield for a majority of the game so far despite killing them in the ruck so far. The chipping game was bound to come out, but hey - it gets results.

Still anyone's game, and we are PLENTY capable of standing up and taking the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half - I think we have superior fitness, and the saints appear to be running like hell to flood back in defence.

                      Here's hoping

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Sydney doing well to be close on the scoreboard at the moment. Saints midfielders are attacking the ball while Sydney midfielders just stand and watch. Would love for some of our guys to try some run and carry through the middle. That is how the Saints have created most of their opportunities.

On the positive side, Malceski has been super so far. How did we survive so long without him?

The Cortinas need to improve, they are getting outhustled at the moment.

Agree with that - Sydney have generally been playing games out well, with second halves being better than first. So we're still very much in the game if we can make some of the disposals a bit crisper.

I'm also hoping their flooding tactics will lead to their demise sooner rather than later. Gehrig is still the danger man and Hall will constantly have 3 defenders against him. We have to win the clearances and attack instead of the chip-chip crap.
