No way.
I'd be very disappointed if the team starts tanking while it is still mathematically possible to make the 8. And even afterwards, I wouldn't want to see the team set out to deliberately lose. Sure, start to play a lot of the younger kids to give them experience if we simply cannot make the finals, that's as far as I would want to go.
We can't get a priority pick this year anyway, and we would have to be absolutely diabolical to finish under Richmond and Melbourne.

I don't agree with virtually any of this, but I don't think the season is over if we lose this week, but it's on the precipice. We would be 3-5 and the top 4 would be virtually gone, but we could still make the top 8 as we did in 2004. We'd need to get going soon after that though and could only afford to drop at most 3-4 of the remaining games. It does make it a very tough ask though - it's very rare for a side to make the top 6 from 3-5 and without that it would be our flag chances completely gone.
