    Shame Seven Shame

When the Swans were on their knees in the early 90s, they still showed every Swans' Sunday afternoon game live.

Given that, what is happening this year is simply unacceptable.

Simple solution to it all. Show the Swans live from 12.30-3.30 and the V8s after from 3.30-6.

apparantly, though, this is the only clash all year and seven have said that they had the v8 deal before the afl so it came first. pretty bad coverage though for anyone who couldn't make the game - first quater highlights only and normal time started 9 minutes into the 2nd quater.

Pretty sure the AFL one came first.... and even if it did not, it is worth a @@@@load more money!

Surely it can't be as bad as living in Perth without Foxtel, ABC radio deciding to broadcast the Dogs vs. Pies game instead until 3 quarter time when they switched to the Eagles vs. Dees game and also having to witness a mass of Eagles jerseys, scarves, memorabillia, etc. the next day.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Shame should be on those Swans supporters who sat at home.

Only 24,000 at a game critical to the 2007 season on a beautiful 24 degree Sunday afternoon. Spare seats everywhere.

Any Sydney based Swans supporter who was not at the game yesterday should hang their head in shame.

You can add ABC radio as well- I was driving home from the SCG and listening to the last quarter of the Footscray Collingwood game then all of a sudden Drew Morphett is replaced by some woman droning on about some painting - which is pretty stupid considering its radio - you cant actually see the painting she's talking about. So I was pressing buttons trying to find it and there was no further coverage.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

And those who were at the game and taped it - SHAME! How dare we expect full coverage - if it's not good enough for netball, it's not good enough for afl.

And those who couldnt get into the ground because all of the members seats weren't resold. Shame!

That's about the average crowd that Power attract for away games (except for Perth and usually the showdowns). Their best crowd in Melbourne so far this year was about 35K v Collingwood - they only got 16K to the MCG for their last game down there. The fact is that Port are one of the poorest drawing teams in the AFL, regardless of their opposition.

The pity is that they are usually a pretty good team to watch.

There is certainly a lot the Swans will want rectified next year in terms of FTA coverage nationally(if the Pay TV deal had been sorted before the roster was announced we would have had a fair few 2pm Sunday games IMO), but I don't think there is any issue with delayed FTA coverage into Sydney for a home match.

It wouldn't bother me if all home games were delayed to be honest.

But if theyb are delayed don't you expect to see them in their entirety?

Apparently was reported on Radio yesterday as a sellout at approx 11:40am, so the "empty seats" would be either SCG Members who didn't turn up, or people that had tickets that didn't turn up for some reason.

It's weird. I looked around the ground in the 2nd quarter and commented that it looked a real good crowd.

There didn't seem a plethora of empty seats, but when the capacity is around 30K, 24K would seem fairly full.
