I went to the first night NRL GF and it just didn't have the same feeling about it. I think it would be a disaster if the AFL moved the GF from its traditional Saturday afternoon slot just to satisfy a TV stations thirst for ratings and revenue.

I agree. The NRL GF has lost heaps since it became a night game. Saturday afternoon is where it should stay. It's better for all concerned. It'd certainly make it near impossible to fly back to Sydney after the game without staying the night. I guess the local pubs would enjoy it though - 2 or 3 hours extra pre-game drinking time!
