Only 12 "Swans" listed on the sportingpulse page. Heard from Liz and she said said that none of the 3 emergencies for tomorrow played. Did they use 10 top-ups? That would explain to 2 WildCat goals!Comment

With talk of reverting to an AFL reserves competition, let's hope that this farce ends soon.He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

This joke *must* end at the end of this season.
We are not doing our players any good and at the same time we are destroying the ACTAFL. Back to the VFL/new AFL reserves comp for us.
Who do the blokes for the Melbourne Storm play for who dont get a game?
Bugger the 200K or whatever amount it was costing us - nobody will want their son playing for us in future drafts the way things are at the moment.Comment

The solution is simple if they bring back the AFL Reserves. Use the money they took off Brisbane and Sydney to pay for their inclusion. That would be a very simple way of the AFL giving the money back and sticking it up Eddie.Comment

Didn't take any notes of the game so can't pull anything together even vaguely resembling a report.
I only arrived just before quarter time and the Cats had two behinds on the board. That remained their score right into the final quarter, so woeful were they. Can barely remember them getting the ball even close to their goals in those two intervening quarters.
Was far from the best performance I've seen from the young Swans - pretty scrappy at times and not as disciplined as I've come to expect from them. Still they were allowed to do pretty much as they liked and given the number of top-ups they had playing, they did OK.
Most of the listed players had at least reasonable games and no-one stood out - to me - as absolutely brilliant. Jack went for a few blistering runs through the middle, Phillips was generally sharp and kicked a couple of corkers of goals, Brabazon got a lot of the ball - though on at least one occasion he called for the ball just for the sake of it - passing it to him would have been a stupid option (and was ignored). Thornton was pretty lively and scored a handful of goals (not sure how many). He linked up well a few times with Laidlaw, who also took some nice overhead marks. Moore seemed to be cruising around in 1st gear for most of the game. He must have been bored witless. Rowe had a couple of brain explosions but overall was quite impressive. Liked a lot of what O'Dwyer did. Simpkin was lively, looked quick and was working quite hard. He seems to have got over his tendency to take pot-shots at goal and was instead looking for better placed options to pass the ball off to.Comment
