No, I meant people used to complain about Nine.

Yes, the knockers of channel 9 are very quiet these days. They were so rapped to have 7 back televising footy.

All I can say is.....I told you so.

This is Channel 9's deal. So Channel 9 having it would have resulted in the exact same setup.

7 and 10 wanted 5 games on FTA, simple as that. It is 9's deal that they matched and they had no real choice.

So why are there only 4 games on FTA then?

They actually had plebty of choice, to say they didn't is BS.

Your C9 loving is funny lol

Part owned by PBL Foxtel offered 17 million for 3 games, and 45 million for 4 games. So you tell me how much choice they had? Get a grip man!! PBL/9 knew what they were doing.

Your love for 7 and that excuse for a commentator McAvaney is even funnier.

The fact is that under 9/10 Melbournians had a much better deal with FTA footy coverage. Now we don't get any games live.

Don't love 7,9 or 10! I hardly watch any FTA, but yes I do love the one and only Mr. McAvaney!!

                  Holy crap.

I get to see a game.

See, we don't ask for much.
                  I replay is cool.
I can avoid the game all day and then watch it as if it's live.

So long as Channel 7 don't have a news break before the game replay starts letting me know who won, I'll be happy
Channel 7 aren't showing a replay in WA

BTW I don't love 9, I just hate the crap 7 serve up as football coverage. In the last 5 years, whilst they did not have the rights, they have done no coverage of the AFL at all (except for in general sports programs). Their coverage and treatment of viewers is worse now than it was before they lost the rights, and is on par (possibly marginally better) with what they served up when I lived in Townsville in the 90's.

10's coverage is much the same this year as in the past and 9's is better than before they had the rights.

I was sure 7 would treat viewers with the same contempt that they did in the past, and so far I have been proven right. Only time will tell if they can actually do any better.

My issue with Channel 9 and Football was that Rugby League was king, Channel 9 wouldn't even let Foxtel or another network show Friday Night Football or the 2nd Sunday game.

From a Sydney point of view, 9 showed far more contempt for viewers, than 7 ever did. 7 used to make a lot of games available on Optus Pay TV for the Northern markets, unfortuantely access was an issue, luckily my local at the time had it live.

9 don't show the AFL Footy Show until very late in Sydney and don't even bother screening the new show they have on Monday nights.

10 are the best for AFL in the Northern States, along with Foxtel. 7 and 9 will never take the risks that both 10 and Foxtel are able to, simply because of the ratings war they are continually in.

The fact is under 9/10 that was a different deal and only 1 game a week was Live out of 5 if unlucky, 2 if lucky (the 2nd being 10's Saturday Night match if it was being played interstate). Plus One of the 5 games of a highlights package.

Regardless of who got the TV rights deal for the period 2007-2011, be it 7/10 or 9 we would of ended up with 4 games on Free to Air and NONE of them LIVE (unless again it happens to be the Saturday Night match on 10 being played interstate). So why your resting this at the feet of Channel 7 when they matched a contracted agreed upon by Channel 9/Foxtel and the AFL is beyond me.

This contract is the fault of 9, Foxtel and the AFL and not Channel 7 or 10, they only agreed to match a contract that was already in place.

y'know I can never avoid scores myself personally. Whenever I have to work and the swans are playing I take the radio to work and listen instead. Sure it does drive some of the colleagues mad but they've gotten used to it
2005, year of the swan, Demetriou was wrong so we sing this song...
