    James MacSmith

Anyone notice that James MacSmith only ever reports on the first half or 3 quarters of the game in the Sun Herald? And it seems to get shorter every week. By the finals, he's just gonna report on the pre-match walk on the ground, maybe breaking through the banner and thats about it. Does he have to get home to bed early or something?

Alot of that has got to do with deadlines on the Saturday night.

The problems that Sydney based journalists have is that write about AFL as if it was rugby league/rugby union.

Currently the journalists are obsessed with the fact that 12 wins gets you into the semi finals. So what you had after the St Kilda game was opening paragraphs of.......
"Sydney are now 2 wins away from qualifying for the Semi finals".

This week it will be........"Sydney is now one win away from semi finals."

They can ask 10000 questions to Roosy but the answer will be identical - "We are just trying to win as many of our remaining home and away games as possible."

      All about the deadlines
      - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!
