He must be very close to being off the list. It was around Rd 2'ish that he was put on it from memory.

This is certainly correct regarding rookie promotion when done as a result of a long term injury.
However, without another long term injury I believe Sydney could (if they have not already done so) name up to two rookie listed players, including Jack, as an 'eligible rookie' allowing for possible first team selection. This is because O'Loughlin & Barry are on the Sydney list as 'veteran's - inside list'.
This would affect total player payments (TPP) and if the minimum wage stipulated in the AFL - AFLPA collective agreement would take Sydney's TPP above the salary cap the eligible rookie nomination could not be done.
Cheers

Yes. Correct. Having the two veterans does give us fexibility to do that.
However, I think you'll find that the nominated two Rookies have already been named. Not sure who, but think this has already occured....Comment

According to the first mention on this site, it was reported in the SMH on 10th April which was the Tuesday after Rd 2. This would mean LRT would not be able to play this week.
Of course there is a strong possibility that the paperwork/fax/email/whatever was lodged with the AFL before Rd 2, in which case he would be free to play and Jack goes back to the rookie list.
I think that sounds about right.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Here is some news on LRT's progress, plus updates on Davis (likely to play this week), Kennelly (possible to play) and Crouch (almost certain to miss one).

I hope that DOK doesn't turn out to be Josh Willoughby when we could have had Jetta, Morton, Davey(?), for a start."I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment
