Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Originally posted by AFL spokesman Patrick Keane"McPhee is hiding the ball in front of him and so the boundary umpire is told, as with all umpires, if you can't see something clearly, you don't guess. So he doesn't blow the whistle and they keep playing," Keane said. "Judging on what he can see, no (it is not a mistake). Judging on the video evidence, yes it is."
I've no idea who Patrick Keane is but he obviously has not actually watched that moment from the game - just spouting propaganda from the AFL.Comment

I'm only getting my voice back today after screaming my head off all night at the SCG. That was lamentable!
Swans were poor at the start and killed the game themselves most likely, but the umps...give me strength!!!
I said to my missus (who unfortunately is a Bombers supporter) after the game, that I can't help feeling that if big Baz wasn't shy in taking a dive, we would be hard to beat!
Now that's a shocking indictment of the way the game is being refereed if true. Players are being penalised for being competitive.
I have no idea how Baz keeps his composure. I'd have clocked someone (probably in yellow!).

What crap - umpires guess all the time, particularly in marking contests when they're out of position.
Does anyone else think that the AFL is resembling the Iraqi Propaganda Minister's office more and more every week!Last edited by NMWBloods; 4 June 2007, 11:36 AM.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Hang on a second. Is it not the bloody umpires job to be in the best position to make a decision.
Now for a boundary umpire surely this can not be that bloody hard. If there were exceptional circumstances, like he fell over or a player came crashing over the boundary line and took him out, then I could understand.
But that was just an ordinary bit of play and it was not like it was a line ball decision. BOTH bloody feet were out.
FFS the AFL is killing this game.
Whats the bet the boundary umpire will be umpiring again this weekComment

You know what gets me, is that a couple of weeks ago "The Geish" comes out and say we protect players who go in and get the ball....fine i dont have a problem with that, except when Swans do it..Malceski gets ball and just as he grabs it 2 bombers are all over him, no way in hell can he get the ball out..."whistle blows" holding the ball.
Amon Buchannan 3 weeks ago the oppostion basically molests him and almost takes his head off..holding the ball.
The Umpiring against the swans this year has been a joke, the only 2 games where i thought the umpiring was even and consistant was the last 2 weeks and we dominated.
It seems the swaqns are being umpired out of a premiership..(provided they play like they did against the power and dogs.)
if i was the swans board i would say to Roos and the rest of the players say what you want boys and we will pay the fines this week.Comment

The thing is that we can say "the Swans should have won anyway" but if you give Hall those two goals, and take the last Bomber goal away, and the one from the soft free to Mark Bolton, it gives us a 4 goal win. None of those were from anything we did wrong or from anything against the rules, even with the new interpretations. Not sure I am convinced about this argument myself mind you, but it's something to mull over I guessToday's a draft of your epitaphComment
