    Whingeing broadcasters

He said Channel 10 had little choice but to try and squeeze replays into ad breaks after losing about 25 replay opportunities a game because of the quick kick-in rule.
How about less ads, problem solved

And this chestnut from Channel 7 barely deserves comment.

    Seven wants to mike players

7 and 10 seem hell-bent on ruining football.

yes, they're trying very hard to ruin our footy (well, them along with the rules committee).

not that i'm really for it, but didn't ch9 mike up the captains during the 20/20 cricket games? aren't race drivers miked up? it's just the way that sports broadcasting is going.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

        This is a classic comment...
Channel 10 AFL boss David Barham said last night tightening time between goals could "significantly damage" the quality of TV broadcasts.
I thought they were stuffing it up themselves.

Well, if the AFL expect $780 million every 5 years, more and more requests are going to come in.

I can't imagine any of the major broadcasters are going to pay the same amount if they can't show a mega load of ads or show off new innovations etc.

The more they pay, the more control they want. That's the risk when the highest bidder wins over practical win/win bids.
