Strangely enough, my opinion is not based on stats either...

BUt if you wanna talk stats, he ranks at 70 behind Kirk and Bolton on the top 100 players apparently. And only just in front of Hall who has been very average....

I've been very impressed with Schneider this year. I think he has developed into a solid all around midfielder. And he's been dangerous too. Kicked some very good goals of late.

I sense that something good will happen with the ball in his hands. The same feeling I get when Malceski, Davis or Kennelly get the ball, that something positive is going to happen in the next passage of play. The opposite of the feeling I get when the ball is in the hands of a Bevan or McVeigh or JB.

It's the difference between thinking "Oh, Yes!" and "Oh, No!". It doesn't always work out that way, but Schneider has definitely moved into my 'Oh Yes' group this year.

I don't want to talk stats - as I've already said. They can be useful as a supplementary source of info but they certainly don't tell the whole story.

And the link you've just given is a pretty lousy example of a "stat" anyway - it's an accumulation of best player lists provided by one source whose reporters rarely seem to have watched the game before reporting on it.

I don't think Schneider has been in the Swans top half dozen for more than a couple of games. But I reckon he's been in their top ten for 7 or 8 out of 11.

I'm finding it very difficult to argue with that statement....

They're not stats - that's simply a reflection of the mentions of the best players listed in the media.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

              Agree.... Nearly.

He hasn't been our worst by far and away. But he's only really put in 2 maybe 3 good games. I guess I have higher expectations of him.
