Wanted: 1 CHF (How do we solve a problem like Barry, ah)

I worry about his marking ability, and I think it is off because he is worried about a spoil coming from a close by opposition player.
Which is the big problem.
Leading.
If he is constantly being double teamed, move him to the true CHF position where it's unlikely the opposition will continue to drop a man back.
His fitness is a concern.
He's been double teamed most of his career, why suddenly can't he make a good lead.
He should have shat all over Mal Michael fitness wise. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

How about a bid for Nick Riewoldt, especially with the current problems at St Kilda? He would add a further dimension to an already impressive forward line and another marking option would provide another mountain of problems for the opposition."In some ways we?re less predictable to ourselves and sometimes that can be detrimental because we don?t really know where we?re going" - P.RoosComment

Agreed. I sent an sms to Wardy during the game saying he should concentrate on his 2nd efforts rather than trying to get the frees. Does he not read the papers? He doesn't get all the frees that are there so I don't fancy his chances for getting some Mathwe Lloyd style.Bring it on!Comment

The trouble with Hall
1) delivery, if it is put into space for him to run onto, easy.
2) When he is double or triple teamed it is almost impossible to mark it
3) Yesterday the Hawks were really conscious of him. When A ball was fired in when he was running straight at the kicker, at least one or 2 hawks anticipated and cut off the pass. They did this a lot.
4) The umpires hate him.Comment

His confidence is completely shot at the moment. You can see it, and he said as much in his Friday column.
But he is too good a player not to work his way through it. He possibly needs to think less and follow his instincts more - even if he gives away the odd free in the process.Comment

Yesterday barry's body lamguage was that of a person who was not enjoying their job. It has got pointless as no matter what he tries doesn't work. It was almost painful to watch as the passes were either dreadful or chopped off or he gave away a free unless nearly having his head ripped off."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

I'd like a stat of the number of marks the swans took below the knee or on a half volley. The foot passing was terrible yesterday.Comment

He played well against the Dogs when he spent more time leading up the ground, getting the ball on the wing and the flanks - ie playing more like a traditional CHF. That might be his best value to the side until his form returns.Comment

What a load of dribble, why is it that we live in a time when everything is over analysed and we are so quick to pass judgement.
Hall has played consistently well since he joined us, true his form at present is not at it's best but all players will go through periods like these in their careers multiple times.
You just can not maintain the standard he has set year on year.
A week off this week on a beach with some sun to iron out the niggles and you will see the real Hall back soon.
