                Not sure who.

Shaw is a fair way off being AFL standard yet and time must be running out for him. In his first year he was pretty ordinary around the ground but was very very good at centre bounces. He doesn't look to have improved significantly since then though.

Rowe's stoppage work is pretty good and he is handy around the ground too, but is probably too short to be an AFL ruckman.

                Currie is still at school.

If we didn't have Spida, Doyle would have been playing more senior football (in between his injuries) but its very hard to see he'd have had anything like Spida's influence.

And Doyle would have got injured again and through desparation, and youngster would've been thrown to the wolves. (or at least we'd would hope so)

The commentary about the impact of Spider's presence this year is quite valid. However, in sport one can become completely distracted by "what ifs"

Example number 1: What if the Swans has justifiably won the Qualifying Final game against West Coast in 2005 at Subi. They probably would have lost, (as per usual), to the Crows in Sydney in the Preliminary Final; making it 74 years this year since our last flag.

Example number 2: What if the Swans had kicked just slightly more accurately early this year. They would have beaten West Coast in Round 1 and Adelaide in Round 4: placing them now 8-3, and equal first on the ladder.

Example number 3: What if again justice had occurred, this time last week, and we had got the four points at the SCG against the Bombers. We probably would not have had the passion to overcome the relentless early start from the Hawks yesterday in Melbourne.

Yep - what-ifs in a sporting context can be quite misleading as the consequences will change also, hence the outcome will have changed significantly from the new path generated by they what-if.
