Ticket Sales watch for Swans v Pies?

Anyone have any idea how many are left?

I hope there will be at least 65K

Also on the Ticketek site it says:

    Availability:
    platinum.........Single seats only
    gold...............Single seats only
    silver...............Available
    bronze ...........Single seats only
away fans - gold.....Single seats only
    away fans - silver.....Alloc. Exhausted
    alcohol free area.......Single seats only

This looks good but as I've seen before it changes alot?

I have been monitoring the sales on ticketek over the last week or so.

I know from experience that for some reason ticketek do not release all seats at once. They seem to generally want to fill up the eastern side of the ground, particularly in the top tier, more than the western side. Maybe this is just to make it look on tv as though the crowd is bigger than what it actually is - although, why would ticketek care about this?

Tickets do seem to be selling strongly - at last check the next best in the silver section for 10 tickets adjacent to each other was row 17 on level 6 on the eastern side of the ground. However, how many ticketeks that have sold on the western side of the stadium in the top tier is a mystery. At this stage ticket sales seem roughly on par with those for the Eagles game, so a crowd btw. 60 and 70 thousand is looking likely.

The western side upper levels "belong" to the StadeOz Club. Though this would be a ticketed event for them too (with the allocation already done) they don't like their unused seats being sold the "lower classes" until necessary - so level 6 on the west doesn't get released until an (unknown) criteria of sales elsewhere is met.

Thanks for clearing that up. I always thought there was a reason behind it, but had no idea what it was. I only thought the stadium members had seating in those black seats on the western side in the bottom tier - obviously not though.

So i guess when we start seeing those western upper tier seats on sale we should take it as a good sign that tickets are selling strong and a big crowd looms!

The black seats are a different membership category where the members own particular seats for all events.

The general StadeOz members have unreserved exclusive access to levels 4 and 6 on the western side unless a big crowd is expected in which case StadeOz declares it ticketed and the members then have to apply for (free) reserved seat(s) to that event. A few priority rules apply, including that if they DO NOT USE the reserved seat they go to the back of the queue next time (ie get lesser seats). Once all the member requests are satisfied the remaining seats are available for public sale (if needed).

All this is on the StadeOz website in the membership info section.

Ok, but since for gold & platinum it says single seats only but there is still Gold & Platinum seats are available but at a different bay, isn't that stupid thou.

Say a groups of friends wanted to go together but they see that is only single seats only, they presume its sold out for all Gold & Platinum sections & might not buy & go?

In addition to what js has mentioned if they can get away with not having anyone at least one of the two top decks in each of the east and west stands it saves them a fair bit in not having to staff either of those two levels. Hence you'll often see one of the two top decks completely vacant.

Given the SOO crowd of about 72k I think it was it'd be brilliant if we got 65k. I'm still thinking it'll be closer to 50k.

Ignore what the Ticketek web site says about single seats only.....

When I've been confronted with that, I just keep searching for tickets and sure enough, I find two seperated by a single or a couple of seats. Then you just bowl in and ask the people to shimmy up one!

But, why would ticketek care about staffing costs at TS?

You wouldnt think that it would be in the interest of ticketek to deny sales to certain parts of the ground until a given number of sales has been achieved.

For example, somebody who wanted to buy tickets to the game last week and logged on to ticketek and saw only single seats available in all categories may have thought that game was sold out and not pursued trying to get tickets any further. Lost sales = lost income for ticketek.

However, for ticketek to be doing this, there must be some incentive for them to do it - whether it be financial or part of the agreement that they have with the TS.

Anyways, lets just hope that as many tickets do get sold and that there is a big crowd and a great atmosphere at the game!

                    Signs are good!!

Ticket sales for the clash suggest the crowd figure will break the record attendance for an AFL game outside Victoria, which was set in 2003 when 72,393 people watched Sydney play the Magpies at the same ground in round 21.

There are still about 10,000 tickets available, and Roos is hoping Sydneysiders continue to get behind the team and push the crowd number into record territory.

The 10,000 seats are in the Western stand on Level 6. No doubt they will be realesed tomorrow once Ticketek opens.
Just had a look on ticketek, they have realesed a few more seats around aisle 135 and 136.

The answer is obvious - Ticketek can only sell what they are allowed to sell. It is the management of StadeOz that controls the ticket release.

I looked at ticketek and 9am this morning and again at 12.30pm.
                            - Next best seats in the silver section moved from row one on the western side upper tier to row 3.
                            - In the bronze category, a similar story, a move from row 11 to row 14 on the western side upper tier.
Looks like sales are contiuning strongly!

member guest passes still available 11:30 this morning.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know
