Vogels kicked five or six and missed three or four.

Surely there is someone in the midfield there with a bit of ability to step up.

I wonder if LRT played forward then, to get him into the match?

Looks like our defense was slack, unusually high score against us despite the 35 goals we kicked.

Please cease posting about the reserves. Performance in the reserves are irrelevant. Performances in 2005 are what counts.

How can this competition help our players get to Seniors level? It is a joke and detrimental to us. Do we have any speed in the twos??

Probably the only players capable of the step up to the seniors are Vogels,LRT and K.Jack
As you say a substandard comp, and nothing that helps Sydney when the seniors are struggling

Roos said LRT didn't play that well and may not return next week. Not sure what role he had but I doubt he would have had much to do if he played at CHB.

ORB's going to provide a report but some brief comments...

Jack was very good - provides pace through the midfield and used ball very intelligently. Showed today how much his kicking skills have improved from last year. I think it was he who snapped a super goal in the 3rd quarter (if not him it was Phillips but think it was Jack).

Phillips - pretty good. Dropped a few marks he'd normally snaffle up and a couple of times was caught out trying to do too much. Goal tally is slightly flattering because a couple of them were after someone else took a good mark and then dished off a hand ball to him to run into goal. But he was very busy throughout game and certainly one of the best.

Rowe - very impressive up forward

Lewie - kicked some very nice goals

Vogels - also kicked some very nice goals (and missed a few). Probably the best game I've seen him play this year and must be a chance for promotion next week.

Barlow - super in a brief stint up forward (kicked three goals in a hurry) but a bit of a mixed bag elsewhere on the ground.

Thornton - OK but probably not as involved as he was getting a few weeks ago.

Laidlaw - lively in first half and took a couple of super marks (as per normal). Didn't play second half (presumably taken off as emergency for senior game). Shame he didn't get to play whole game but is possibly one with a chance to come in.

Moore - got a fair bit of pill but not with sufficient intensity or skill to suggest he might be the answer we're looking for.

Most of the rest did some good stuff and some not so good stuff. Not fair to make much of a call on DOK as it was his first game back from injury but he looks a fair way off senior footy at the moment.

Sadly the two stand-outs that you'd like to bring into the team are both on the rookie list and thus ineligible. Phillips, Vogels and Laidlaw maybe some chance but that's about it.

                              How was Jesse White?

He was our stand out recruit pre season, it is a bit sad that he seems to have gone backwards (I have watched one quarter of reserves in about 8 weeks, so that is based on hearsay), but what is the go there?
