What the hell are the AFL thinking??

I agree with the mid-season split round, so that every team gets a week rest.
..... BUT,... If they are to do this fairly they must have all the teams that play in week one of the split round to play another team from week one in the following round, and the same for week two. (they must play another team from week two in the following round)

What kind of amateur league is this when they cannot get something simple like this right?

Next round the Swans play Geelong who have now had a week's rest whereas The Swans must backup from last nights match.

There is not a chance of any team playing in week 2 of the split round to have this advantage, only teams that played in week 1.

    Demetriou, you're a joke!

Yeah, I agree, but it can also be said that the Swans got to go harder at Hawthorn knowing they had the week's rest coming...

Should be a truly split round, 4 games each of the middle two weeks. That way it could be sorted so that the same 8 teams play week 1, 2 and 4 and the other 8 teams play 1,3 and 4.

If Geelong are as crap coming off their break as we were coming off our's we might be half a chance.

Year in, year out we are @@@@@ coming off the break.

The only time we won was by a point and if my memory serves me correct we won the flag that year and Collingwood were vying for first draft pick, so hardly a convincing story all round.
