Who did play well on Saturday???

This is probably easier than naming those that were bad.... There was far to many of them!!

Who could walk off the field with their head held high???

    For mine, Spida was OK.

    Anyone else?

Goodes, O'Keefe and Spida were the only three.

I thought Schneider did some good things and I also thought Dempster was pretty good a few times around half forward early on. O'Keefe ran all night. Goodes was okay.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Malceski was good when he had the ball, BUT Thomas was far more damaging.
        Kirk was OK also.

Goodes' class showed. ROK took some good marks. Kirk always provides a lift when we're under the pump.

Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I had Richards down as reasonable too - with the fourth Daisy goal the obvious blot. Apart from that I thought he worked desparately to get to as many contests as he could and spoiled well. I was flabbergasted to read a comment on another thread that he was very very bad.

B2 is another whose not been mentioned yet who was OK. Kept Didak moderately quiet for most of the game.

Actually I reckon that Nick was only on Thomas in the first qr - & while Thomas scored 2 goals in that time they were both opportunitist goals & Nick probably had 2 or 3 I50s over that time (not his fault that no one up there was capable of marking it). Indeed I think Eski had 9 possies in Q1.

After Q1, I reckon Ted had Thomas & he only scored those last two goals in the last 10 mins. Thomas has many great facets but in reality he played about 15 mins of good footy on Sat night - it's a tribute to his maturity & class that he scored 4 goals in that time, but only a dyed in the wool Pies supporter (or a media gee-up artist) would suggest his performance was anything but a cameo effort.

I know it hurts people to acknowledge it but the Pies' other freak show artists, Davis & Didak, were well held by Bevan & (I thought) Dempster - so their efforts should be recognised too.

So all in all the backline weren't disgraced - Barry & B2 struggled with Cloke & Rocca but had to make do with only a fraction of the support that Wakelin et al were getting in the Pies defence.

Midfield & forward line - bar Goodes & ROK - were uniformly awful.

I thought Eski was found out a bit on Saturday... he certainly didn't have the influence he has had to date this year.

He came good in the second half and had a couple of reasonable touches but all in all, I think he was well beaten. But he wasn't alone in that department.

Mal played like he always does except the fumbles are infectious when the pressure is on. I was disappointed that he caught them too.

O'Keefe and Goodes, I thought, were good.
Malceski would have been good too if he had another opponent or got moved to other parts of the ground.

the kids playing little league did well.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

                              Fearless was solid, but unspectacular.
Goodes was good, seems to be getting his touch back around the packs.
Pebbles was solid, but can't buy a goal
Ted played pretty good, I wasn't concerned with his skills at all.
