Why has this not yet been asked?

Given his current form, should Hall be dropped?
    40
Absolutely not. He's a champion and integral to the teams success.

He's Just out of form. Dropping him would be the wrong move.

He's not doing anything to convince me he deserves to be an automatic selection each week. We need to think about it. Seriously. No one is "un-droppable"

Yes. He's current form and on field performance isn't giving us anything that someone else can't

Ridiculous thread. You don't drop a player of Hall's ability to the two's.

      Why?

It could be argued that you don't drop a player of Davis' ability for no good reason either. But that was done for 6 weeks last year for what was, when it all boils down, a pretty trivial matter.

I agree that BBBBH is playing well, he is un-droppable. But the fact of the matter is, he isn't playing well at the moment.

So why should it be that everyone else's place in the team comes under scrutiny, why not Hall?

Could have we had a better FF on grand final day last year?

        ....?

You may as well argue that Aka got traded for no reason.

Ouch!!! That's a bit harsh don't you think???

Davis makes A stupid comment, Aker has an all out war with his team mates, coach and club in the media over a period of weeks. I don't think that they're really the same.

A stupid comment said at an in oppurtune time in the wrong location was what Davis was guilty of. Not a wholesale slamming of everyone like Aker.

If you did drop Hall, then the domino effect of the opposition backmen would see Mick crucified and so forth down the order. All the while you have Barry in the Magoos. Not sure that would turn the season around.

If he is injured, then yes, he needs a rest but I mean a proper rest. No footy and no training for a fortnight, or whatever it takes. I suspect he really should not have played against Hawthorn or Collingwood and he would have been pumped to take on Geelong.

I think Barry's been doing a Crouchy on the coaching staff and they are partly to blame for not pressing the issue.

They will never drop hall for being out off form. Because BBB draws atleast the best defender all the time, and usually another roaming defender.

I think even the most ardent Davis apologists accept that he wasn't dropped for making a comment to the media. Indeed, that comment came after he'd already been dropped.

Possibly it contributed to the length of penance he served, but even that is speculation.

If you read through any of the dozen or so media articles over the past 12 months that quote Davis, you will find plenty of hints as to what the reason was. The precise details will probably never be known publically - and nor is there any reason why they should be.

As for dropping Hall for form reasons, no way. But if his body isn't in sufficient condition to allow him to train during the week, I can't see how a rest can do him any harm and it would give the team a chance to try out life without him.

There's a whole other thread about it, just because it isn't a poll doesn't mean the question hasn't been asked.

How many of these threads do we really need? If Hall was dropped, I'd expect a repeat of our performance in 2002 after he was suspended for 5 or so weeks.

This is the problem. He attracts a similar sized defender and then 1 or 2 drop in the space in front of him where he leads to, so what happens is that he has to lead further up the ground just to get a mark. Then his disposal is 50/50 at best into the forward line. The short kicks into the 50 are useless now. Everyone knows swans wait and wait for someone to present in the 50 so they get massive numbers back, force a turnover and then stream forward through the centre with free men and their forward one out directly in front of goal.

I think they should scrap this short kicking crap and kick long and direct and throw in goodes, jolly or spider in the goal square. have ROK and Mick on either flank and get BBBB to play further up the ground or even in the ruck. Just try something.

His skills have been shocking lately. The marks aint sticking at all and alot of them are sitters. Which is weird because there are so manybig forwards having a field day in terms of marking in the comp. Nmaes like Cloke, Pavlich and Franklin come to mind.

                            I wouldn't drop him, unless he's injured.

They need to use the fact that he attracts numbers and lure them all to half forward so that theres more space for Magic and co. He wont get as many goals but he will definately set up more than enough goal assists.

It's time to try something else, because everyone is onto their style of footy.

The thing that Roos said about the players tiring may be true. But they need to remember they have no kennelly. It's amazing how important he is in our make up when he's not there.

Because he is still our leading goalkicker and his form doesn't warrant being dropped. I don't think there's anyone in the two's who would have kicked 24 to this stage of the season.

He's not going THAT badly. Just not going as well as he can.

He's a champion who has kicked over 500 goals. Dropping him to play in that woeful Canberra competition is one of the more ridiculous things I've read on here.
