    Barryometer

Surely Hall is the barometer of the club. I have often thought that he is our most important player, by miles. He is more than the arrowhead, he is the whole structure. Without him (or with him playing badly) we are a very ordinary side. Not only do we lack structure when he is playing badly, but confidence, morale and enthusiasm. If Hall turns it around, so will the Swans. If he doesn't, we are in the poo.

FWIW, I stillthink last year's GF is the major factor in his lack of confidence and resultant poor form. I think he needs to go out and dominate in a physical contest. Not worry about any frees he gives away but just attack the ball the way he knows how and see what comes of it.

Without Hall arguably we are a very very ordinary side. You look at highly-skilled teams that lack a dominant forward and you can see the difficulties they can have. And we're not highly skilled! Without Hall to be our focal point and kick goals, we struggle to kick them.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

He doesnt seem to want to burst in and bustle into the packs at the moment. Sometimes seems to wait for the ball to come out and doesnt look anywhere near as confident as he once was. Wether this is last years grand final, his knee, the frees he has had against him, the rubbish delivery he is getting, the double teaming or all of the above i dont know.

But the swans coaching staff should be busting their guts to fix whatever is wrong with him because he is the one player who could turn our season around.
Theres not much left to say

          See "West Coast without Judd".

I'd like to see Hall playing like he's enjoying himself - scare the @@@@ out of some opponents, fly for some big grabs, do a few selfish things - he just looks like he wants to be anywhere but on a footy field atm.

Good call.... Needs to get a bit of Davo about him..... None of this handing off @@@@.... Just grab the ball and have a ping for @@@@'s sake!!

Throw in some big don't argues, a couple of shirt fronts and a few jumper punches and he'll be back in business...

hall looked relatively soft and fat on saturday. i think his injuries (and perhaps illness) are almost completely preventing training. perhaps he should have been omitted on saturday and for any more weeks it took to get him right so as to capitalise on the mid-year break.

i reckon he'll be limping on for a while unless he's given a decent break.

vogels and rotating ruckmen can provide a better forward opponent than hall at the moment.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

I do think it is getting a bit much that Baz is copping the wrap for the entire team - that its ALL his fault that they lost. Granted he didnt play well and hasnt done for a while, but geez he certainly isnt alone there, most of the team have been crap for the same period of time - . I still think that he is so frustrated that he will burst soon - so be it - maybe that will take some of the pressure off. The person who would put the most pressure on Barry Hall is Barry himself. So I still reckon he should deck someone, take the suspension for a few weeks and then come back refreshed, injury free (hopefully) and ready to lead from the front.

What all of this hoo har is really showing though is that our coach and his team of merry men really do not have a plan B against the opposition. the opposition clubs are beating us at our own game - so its time for everyone to step up not just Hall.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

You know what Wardy?? You're spot on with that comment. Baz was far from the worst we had on the field on Saturday night.... Well OK, not that far but he wasn't alone in being bad.

But I think the question is, for how long are we going to have him playing poorly?? Granted he kicked a couple of goals and always find a way to get a couple. however, he's supposedley a "Power" forward and is paid accordingly.

At the moment, he's simply not delivering upon that expectation.

Well Tim Morrissey is dining out on the demise of Barry's form at the moment - he cant think of anything original to write, so he will be banging on about Baz's form for sometime to come.

And you are right RP - the expectation on Baz is just so huge, it begs the question, are we all expecting too much of him?

Personally I feel that we Swans supporters have become so used to them winning and being on top in recent times, that we just didnt expect it to unravell the way it has to date. But there are still 10 rounds to go - anything could happen - I'm looking on the "upside"

he has my full permission to give scarlett a good belting, then take a few weeks off to "think about his behaviour".
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
