It has been an amazing few years where the swans have had a full squad to pick from almost every week.

Other teams have marveled at it, our doctors and coaches have been praised for it.

BUT NOW THE TRUTH HAS BEEN REVEALED.

We get as many injuries as anyone else, but our players hide the injuries from our coach and medical staff and play through them.
Eg.
Maxfield - played injured for the last few months of his career. Exposed. Retired.
Williams - played injured for the last few months of his career. Exposed. Retired.
Crouch - played injured. Hid injury from medical staff. "dropped" Didnt play for 9 months to get over injury.
LRT - played injured during finals series. Yet to play a senior game this year.
Kennelly - Came back too early from knee injury. Injured knee again.
Hall - Played injured every week this year, now may miss the rest of the season including finals.

Each one of these players were largely ineffectual during the time they played injured, yet kept putting their hand up for selection, when perhaps a week or two off might have prevented longer term damage.

I also think you're being a little liberal with the facts in some of those examples.

LRT - did play injured but does this have anything to do with his late start to the season? Unless everything the club has said in the media is an outright lie, he said he was fine and did much of the pre-Christmas pre-season, only to then admit his foot was sorer than they'd been aware of. Yes, maybe they might have realised earlier but it doesn't seem playing injured last year was a major factor.

On whose say-so did Kennelly come back too soon? And that ineffectual game when he did come back? Strangely many thought he was BOG. By the time he'd missed another game with what we can only assume was a completely unrelated virus, and then played one more with no injury, the Hawks game was probably within the normal timeframe for return for his first injury. His main problem now is bone bruising. Who can say for sure whether he was more susceptible to that due to his previous injury? I know I'm not qualified. Are you?

Of course it has been(luck), despite many people here saying it was all about good injury management.

I blame their speech and drama teachers from High School days. They were obviously too good at teaching them to play the role of a stoic!!!!!!

LRT was a liability in the grand final. He was playing injured and instead of giving Hanson a bath like in 2005, he was beaten comprehensively by him.

Maybe this policy cost us a flag ?

Actually, I know a lot about dislocated knee caps, having dislocated mine on numerous occations, have had reconstructive surgery on one 15 years ago, and currently nursing through bone bruising at the moment.

It's not all about good injury management, which a number of people said it was.

Good injury management helps, particularly on soft tissue injuries and rehabilitation.

Most importantly, luck is the main factor.

What makes you think my last dislocation was 15 years ago ?

Ironically my current bout of bone bruising is on the "fixed" knee. Go figure!
