"There's no reason we can't win nine games straight coming up."
I can think of one...

thats way too optimistic from nick
he should be looking at the next 4 weeks and look to beat freo beacause they're a team who may contend with them in whether sydney gets a home elimination final or not.
they wont make top 4, unless we miraculously return to form and win 8 or 9 of the last 9 games. we have done so well finishing 3rd or 4th and winning away qual finals (eg port in 03 and wce last yr).
a splendid form run going into finals has been done before, such as freo last yr but i really doubt it.
i think 6th if we're good enough. but realistically 7th or 8th.
teams like st kilda have almost all their games at mcg or telstra.
the top 4 will be: hawthorn, geelong, west coast, adelaide (no order)
next 4: collingwood, kangaroos, freo/sydney, essendon
we are going to be hard pressed to be in the mix this year
it'll be a victorian premier this year.
Well, we have about the 4th best %, which is always a good indication of form.....says more about the rest of the comp than us.
We are only 2 games behind 7th, and 2 games behind 4th, so if you think we can make top 8, then top 4 is just as likely.
8 point game this week.
i dont get how it's an 8 point game?
does that mean the game v carlton is a certainty or something?
nah % isn't an indication of form. the reason why we have a good % is because we've been winning or losing by +/- 10-20 points. i dont think we've had a really heavy loss maybe 26 points is the heaviest.
Two games from it with most of the current eight having "8-point matches" for most of the second half of the season.
Our current focus should be on getting the immediate wins on the board, a good streak of wins will take care of all this with the top eight all squashed together.

Imposter teams like Collingwood, Essendon, Roos, even Adelaide, are being caught in a classic pincer movement.
More worthy finalists such as us, Freo and St Kilda are all currently outside the 8, and in respect of the latter two are making runs to get back in the 8.
Very interesting run home.
Basically any game against any of the above mentioned teams is doubly important. One for us to record a win, and secondly to stop them getting a win.
Unless we learn to kick scores a top 4 finish is a pipe dream.

Oh, you're so obsessed with kicking goals!!
