    Who's the late change?

The Australian has Schneider in the starting line-up, Schmidt, McVeigh, Kennelly Davis on the bench with Vogels, Laidlaw and LRT emergencies.

That must mean that Buchanan is in...who's out? (the Aus doesn't list the starting 18). Maybe Hall didn't come up and it's going to be raining.

Buchanan wasn't named on the extended bench on Thursday night.

Everyone seems to think Kennelly won't be playing and Laidlaw will come in for him.

Sounds like they've just shifted Schneider and Davis between the bench and a starting position.

I'm an idiot....sorry, folks. I guess I just can't quite believe that McVeigh and Mathews are playing and Buchanan isn't even an emergency. I think I'm living in an alternate world.

I know we've been through this before, but if a player has to be replaced for the game by an emergency does it make any difference if they are named in the 18 or on the bench? From memory it makes no difference.

No..as far as the rules go it's 22 playing and 3 emergencies.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can name anyone you like up to 45 minutes before the game regardless of who you put in the 25. After that you need a medical certificate to bring in an emergency....or else you have to pay a $5000 fine. From memory we copped the fine on purpose when Kelly came back early from a knee against Freo...just to spring the surprise. As I recall the real surprise was that a crap team like Freo (then) were up by seven goals at half time.

Ahhh, that is what I thought. If the Swans have altered their named 18 I wonder what the point is then of moving Davis to be named on the bench (if it isn't just a mishap by the Australian).

Blakey interviewed on SEN. Laidlaw rested for 1st but is not going to play.
