    Well who would of thought...............

........ that the mighty Brizzy lions would do the Wet Toasters at Subi. This poses a mouth watering prospect. Can Sydney give the WC a hat-trick loss at their home ground?????

With Benny boy a ham string. Jud limped off in the last Qrt, & Kerr possible suspension!!

    Caaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrn the Swannies!!!!!!!

Nothing like the silence at Subiaco Oval when the West Coasters lose. I waited years to see Sydney win that qualifying final by one point last year. God I wish they could do it again.
For the WA Supporters if they don't know there is to be a club luncheon at the Italian Club (tickets required) and after the game apparently some of the players and officials will be going back again for a post-match function at the Italian Club (North Perth)

I watched the game last night and was amazed at some of the statistics. 14 of the Lions had 50 games or less. It won't be too long before a new Lion team makes more AFL history.

I also couldn't help thinking about some of the other teams as well. Collingwood has many young playerws in the team as well. It seems may teams have blooded new players with excellent results this year except our Swans.

Sadly I think the window of opportunity is disappearing very quickly...

As they say "bet with your head" and with Freo at $2.40 on SportsTab I have my $10 on them for today's game. No guilty feelings, after watching the Swans the last two weeks, combined with the return of three underdone players, its not rocket science!

agree with you on that bas, you can add hawthorn to that list who will be a very good team in 2 years and carlton are 1 clean out and abt 2 yrs away. geelong will have that side for about 3 yrs. so where does that leave our swans. our time has gone the last 4 years were good but its back to drawing board. and our reluctance to blood and keep young players in instead of leaving underperforming players in is going to bite us in a bad way.
i hope , i realy hope i am wrong on that but ive watching the cycles in footy for to many years now to believe otherwise.

Believe it or not, the Eagles are actually as bad as us at the moment. We have both lost 5 of the last 8 matches (sane for Port and St. Kilda).

The form team (apart from Geelong 8 from 8) are actually the Kangaroos, being the only side wtih 6 from the last 8.

And isn't that lucky for us. No prospects of any ladder movement this week but we can hit that bottleneck of 32 pointers with a win next week (and assuming we flog Freo today, which I think we will). Two of the 32 pointers play each other (WB & ESS) with Port also being a real chance of losing against the Weagles.

On the Geelong front, is it just me or is there any validity to feeling some element of suspicion of teams that consistently win by very large margins?

I can't help but think that something's going to give. In today's terms, the better teams by season's end are not exclusively those with a huge percentage. It's those who have had to face a range of challenges that has served to adapt the team to the season. I think Geelong are almost having it too easy and may find they are not prepared for what the opposition may throw at them come finals time.

I'm not being very specific - it's just Mabo, the vibe, the constitution, the vibe of it all.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

I must say it brought back twinges of joy to see the old Roy's jumper smashing a good team. That was unusual in their last years, making it doubly enjoyable.

I agree. At the moment, Geelong are a very good team. They probably will be until the last week in August, then it starts again. Can they win a scrap and can they win ugly are genuine questions to ask Danzar. Perhaps that (and I refer to other threads) is the genius of Roos - to play Spetember style footy all year, regardless of the ugliness of it.

The Lions were great last night, but i wouldnt say that WC are as bad as us ATM.If they continue that way i reckon we have a very good chance to beat them at Subi, but then again we always are.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I never would've imagined Brisbane beating the Weagles at Subi given their poor performances against them in the past 5 years but good on them! It should give many teams plenty of confidence when they face West Coast at Subi.

Cousins pulling a hammy and getting injured in the process was a very likely scenario prior to the game because we all know he was in rehab for a while and did a few kicks when he returned to Perth and never did any serious training. I think the Eagles were a bit too confident by trying to rush Cousins back in the side without playing a few quarters in the WAFL like other players and now he'll miss at least a couple of weeks of footy.

The next few rounds will be very interesting:
Round 15 vs. Port Adelaide at AAMI
Round 16 vs. Sydney at Subiaco
Round 17 vs. Western Bulldogs at Telstra Dome
Round 18 vs. Fremantle at Subiaco
Round 19 vs. Kangaroos at Telstra Dome

Given their current form, that's a big challenge for them and if they lose all of those games (highly unlikely), they might miss the finals altogether and I'm sure the Eagles coaching staff will be wary of their run home.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

I don`t think WC will play Cousins this year. I rekon that hammy gave them a wake up call. Wouldn`t it be great IF we smashed-em in 2 weeks.
